Gamban blocks access to online services that enable gambling or closely related high risk behaviour. Once installed, these categories are blocked automatically and cannot be customised.
Gambling Websites and Apps
Gamban blocks the following types of gambling content:
Sports betting
Lotteries
Casinos
Slots
Poker
Bingo
Table games
Social casinos
Esports gambling
Prediction markets
Gambling affiliates
These services are designed around wagering money or items of value on uncertain outcomes and are the primary sources of gambling related harm online.
Financial Speculation and Trading Platforms
Gamban also blocks platforms that enable high risk financial speculation, including:
Trading platforms
Cryptocurrency platforms
NFTs
These platforms often involve rapid gains and losses, speculative behaviour, and high volatility. For many users recovering from gambling related harm, these services can trigger similar patterns of behaviour.
Digital and In Game Gambling
Some online games allow players to gamble using virtual items rather than money. Gamban blocks these systems where they are used for betting.
Examples include:
Skins gambling
Skins gambling uses virtual items, often cosmetic items from video games, as a currency to bet on the outcome of matches or other games of chance.
What Gamban Doesn't Block
Gamban is designed specifically to block gambling related services. It does not block the following:
Gambling adverts
Sports information platforms
Investment websites offering long term, non speculative products
Loot boxes
Adult content
If you want to block adverts or adult content, you may need to use additional software designed for that purpose.
Can I Choose What Is Blocked?
It is not possible to choose which content is blocked. Once Gamban is installed, all categories listed above will be inaccessible.
For example, it will not be possible to keep access to online poker or trading accounts while Gamban is active.
If you hold funds or assets in any affected accounts, we recommend withdrawing them before installing Gamban.
Found a Site That Should Be Blocked?
